Now that I got raked over the coals by mr thinker for giving false info,,, The book I have shows that the 227 was built till 1966 for the 3010, 3020. Yes the 237 did come out in 1964 for the 4010 4020. What the book dost NOT say is "did the 237 come out because the 227 would not fit on the 4010 4020????? ? Any questions, E-Mail me and I will sent the page from the book. I did not write the, I only quoted from it.

A 227 picker can be used on the 4010 tractors. When I bought my 4010 After pricing mounting hardware, radiator intake ears, and extensions to lengthen the snout out I remade my brackets and mounted my picker on a Super 88 Oliver. It had gears that gave me better ground speeds and seemed to be a better outfit than it was on the old 70, my uncle who ran the picker really liked it, he never did like that hand clutch and I have to admit it was a little dangerous when hooking up the wagon

Mike, I pulled up the 227 parts book on EPC, and one section shows rear mounting parts for the 3020, 3020, 4010 and 4020. The parts are probably the same between the 4010 and 4020, but I suppose a person can draw their own conclusion from that data, and it would appear that the 227 would fit the larger tractors. It would also appear that it was still in production when the 4020 was introduced, based on that info. I wouldn't worry too much about being called out by Mr. Thinker. I've yet to see the person that hasn't posted incorrect info on this board at least once, and I know I've done my fair share. Anyone getting advice from this board is certainly advised to take it with a grain of salt, because even the "experts" make mistakes from time to time. And as far as Mr. Thinker goes, I doubt that the person posting as him on this board is in any way associated with Green Magazine. I've questioned him about it several times, and have been met with silence each time, which pretty much pegs it for me. The bottom line is to post the best info you can, and if you're not 100% sure about the accuracy, post that too.

ADDTIONAL INFO; The 24-T baler replaced the 14-T, but the same book shows a over lap in the years 1963 and 1964. The 100 beet harvesters was replaced by the 100B and overlapped in 1960 and 1961. The 8 chopper was replaced by the 6 and 12 choppers, but all three where made in 1959, 1960, and 1961. Then there is the "streeter" D's and the 730 diesels that where made while the 3010 and the 4010's where being made.
