Got a green semi-mounted plow, faded green in color, I did not see a id tag on the beams how can i tell if it is a jd or oliver. thanks dave

Another way is to look for a JD mark on any of the castings. The J & D are combined into a single symbol. I found that this is an easy way to identify JD equipment if you can find a casting mark.

DD, These modern plows(no trip rope or wheels on the front) are a bit harder for me but there are likely some tell tale signs somewhere. Any casting numbers on the tail wheel hub, coulter hubs, or anywhere else could give a clue. Generally Oliver numbers start with "EP" and John Deere plow numbers end with "A". If you can't find anything along these lines email me or post again and we can start with description of various parts. Bob
