Having a problem with no transmission drive and loader & Hoe very slow. All hydraulic Filters were changed, was advised suction screen for transmission pump may be restricted. Where is inlet screen located? Are there other problems that could cause this. Worked fine, then suddenly seemed like no oil to the transmission pump. Clutch is engaged.

not sure about 510 but a 300b is behind filter housing it has short piece of hose between them the fitting unscrews and has screen behind it, you will loose all fluid..have nice day may god bless

Wendell, I have a 410 backhoe and the inlet screen you refer to is inside the transmission. From the Hydraulic filter to the transmission, there is a short(3")hose. If you remove this hose, which is tough, and unscrew the fitting that is on the transmission, the screen is attached to this fitting. Moving the hydraulic filter assembly will aid in pulling out the screen. The screen is approx 18 inches long. Not sure this helps. I thought that the screen was only in play with the hydraulic circuits, not the transmission.

I found it, the screen is in the very bottom of the transmission housing, big 1.5 inch plug on left lower side. Screen was not plugged, but transmission filter was with metal. I think I have a left rear wheel bearing going out and this metal is plugging the filter. Do not have it apart, but may need housing and axle assembly. God did not bless me too much on this one, but it is in one piece awaiting the wrenches. May need a left rear wheel housing & axle, if too much wear has occured. Also would like a 2 ft bucket.
Thanks for the suggestions and the encouragement, these problems can be challenging.
