About a week ago I installed a carb. kit in my 420 ( as noted previously my mechanical talent is slightly under "shade tree" ). The problem is ,before ,when the tractor was running worse, harder to crank and get to run smooth ,it seemed to have more power ,in 4th gear it could actually climb slight incline, now after kit,it runs smoothly ,cranks good (cold or warm0 needs no choking ,idles smoothly ,runs up smoothly, but under same slight uphill load it'll bog down right away. I realze 4th gear was probably a road gear and too high to really work ,but I' still puzzled as to the way it does now ,someone suggested the points ( and they are new) may be slightly off.Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Robert, it might be as easy as the load screw adjustment. The correct adjustment for it is 1/2 turn open from even running under load. Try opening the load screw 1/4 turn at a time until it either runs better or doesn't make any difference. If that doesn't get you more power post back.....

You need to set the load jet on the carb. Even if you had bad points working on the carb wouldn,t cause you to loose power now if you had it before. JD
