I recently acquired a Deere Mansur wooden planter in reasonably good condition. There are a few pieces missing. I need to start researching. The question is does anyone have info they could share on this planter. It has wide metal wheels but most everything else including seed boxes are wood. One lid is gone but more important, there is no tongue and I'm not sure if there should be a wooden marker pole or not. Any help is greatly appreciated. Pictures really nice. Thanks

I did a google.com search for them and found some helpful stuff with pics. Also, on the implement alley board, there is a guy there called old Iron who can help some too. Grn magazine had an article a couple years ago as well. The wood box ones are older than the ones i have seen.

Thanks for the response. Yes, this one is certainly very old. I imagine I will have to reproduce the missing parts myself. I will try your sources. This planter is old enough it took two people. One drove the planter and horses and the other sat in between the seed boxes "pumping" the handle operating the seed slide under the boxes. I think Deere use to have one on the display floor at Adm. center.
