The right axle on my G #24362 is leaking what appears to be gear oil. I don't think there should be gear oil up that high- I checked the level at the inlet, and it is correct. Is it possible for gear oil to get trapped in the axle housing, and how do I fix that?
I got replacement felts and retainers, but the outers were the wrong ones. I got the inner retainers, F787R, and the felts, D2455R, but the outers were completely wrong- they subbed two other parts for the F786R outer retainers, and they don't even fit over the end of the axles. Does anyone know if the correct F786R outer retainers are actually still available? Thanks for any help!

If your G is as my A, you need new oil seals on the inboard end of the axle. I saved the retainers on my A by removing the axles, as the retaining nut is loosened (against a wedge), the old retainer is pushed out. I installed new oil seals, siphoned the oil that had spilled over into the axle housing, installed the axle and then new felts and the old retainers. My mechanic and consultant tells me the retainers are no longer available.
