Hi folks,I am so excited 'cause I have just bought a "D".I am 54 and have wanted one since I was a teenager on the farm in Ontario. We had a Ford 8-n to work our 80 cleared acres.Believe me,plowing 20 acres 20 inches at a time when our neighbour was plowing 48 inches with his unstled D in high (2nd)sure made me a fan of deere's.That really was a spectacular sight and sound!!!The best I could do was pulling a wheelie at the headland by speedshifting into third and popping the clutch while lifting the plow out of the furrow. Anyway,I would sure appreciate it if anyone could help me to roughly date this tractor as the serial tag is missing. It is a beautiful styled D on cutoffs.Round spoke on front, flat spokes on the rear.I also noticed that the fan shaft is exposed all the way.Thank you for any response.

Hayman if you'll drop me an email I'll do my best to get the details and try to narrow down the date. With spoke front wheels, it should be pre-1946. Several other little changes were made that we can work from. I have a '29, '34, '36, '48, and a '49, and they aren't even popular in my area! I'd be glad to help in any way on your D. We D guys have to stick together.
Tony

Hayman,
I am parting out a 48 D. It has cast rear 30" wheels if you don't like the cutoffs on yours. About the only other thing you need would be 1 rim and maybe tires. Let me know if you want them.
Thanks,
Ryan Jardon

Find the SN# serial number and we can find the year.
