Posted previously about 1964 1010RUS being extremely hard to start. Well after cleaning and rebuilding the carb. (TSX-809) I've got a question. When the choke is completely closed there is so much vacuum created that raw fuel is pulled through the carb. i.e. it pours out of the air intake. Obviously this is bad, but I am having a difficult time fixing the problem. Like I said I rebuilt the carb with all new seals, float needle, etc... The float is adjusted to be level with the top of the carb when upside down. I am fairly sure that needle is not stuck. So what is going on? Any help is appreciated, before I take it to the shop.

Check the service manual for proper float setting, sometimes they are fairly particular. In addition, make certain that the bown vent isn't plugged. I'm not sure about the carb that you have, but many of them had a choke relief that would open such that the engine wasn't at full choke all the time, especially if it fired. It is a hinged door on the choke butterfly controlled via spring.
