Yes, the Delco 1111558 distributor has a mechanical advance mechanism built into it. The magneto running timing was 25 on the JD B and others of that era. I set the running timing on my late B with Delco distribotor to 25, this is running timing at full throttle RPM. HOWEVER, the timing marks on the flywheel and flywheel cover are for "top dead center" or Zero degrees advance. The original procedure for setting the timing with the distributor was to adjust it so the points were just opening when the marks lined up. Then with the engine running the timing would advance. The distributor I have has worn advance weights so I choose to adjust the timing with a advance timing light with the engine running at full throttle speed. However I noticed with the distributor running at crankshaft speed as it does on a JD B, I had to set the timing light at 50 to get 25 at the engine crankshaft. Don't know how well I explained this so you can understand what I said.
