What innovative things can I make out of a John Deere?

I am parting out a JD A. I am looking for ideas of things to make out of some of the extra parts.

For example: I plan on taking the rear casting with the J O H N D E E R E on the axles and make an overshoot waterwheel. I heat and cool my house with a water-to-air heat pump and whenever it runs I have water running out a pipe to a small duck pond. I want the water to run over the top of a spoked wheel into some homemade cups that when full will turn the wheel in a forward direction. The wheel will be mounted on my J O H N D E E R E axle so the world can see it slowly revolving from the road.

I am also making a pencil holder for my office. I will be using the gear selector metal box (what ever it is called). It is the part with 5-6 and 3-4 and 1-2 and R raised letters on it.

Do you have any other unique ideas for JD parts?

Thanks

I have made a base for my 6" grinder stand out of a Model B flywheel. Great counter weight and is portable also, just tip it on it's side and roll it to were you need it. Crankshaft would make an interesting mailbox post.

How about using the steering shaft for a lightening rod? It'd look real nice on top of your house, especially with the wheel still attached at the top end.
Flywheel'd make a pretty decent boat anchor. Or lid for a cookie jar you don't want to kids raiding all the time.
Finally, with the cylinder block you could make a dandy two-holer out back.

I've got a great idea for the radiator (if it unstyled. Take out the core and cover the front with a hinged mirror. it would make a dandy medicine cabnet for the two-holer that Bob suggested you build out back.

Maybe a headlight bracket for a super-capacity toilet paper holder?

you could also use the rear axles for hand rails, it would have to be handicap accessable. everyone knows we're just having fun

There was a picture in Green Magazine recently of a JD two-cylinder on top of a silo, but I'm 99% sure that one was a "G", as it appeared to be styled and have the side by side stacks.

I saw the G on silo on RFD-TV one time. Looked like a heck of a conversation piece. I bet you see a bunch of brake lights in front of that place. I know a guy that plans to make a mail box out of a G power block(it's cracked pretty good inside).

Hey, all joking aside, i made a good boat anchor out of the clutch drive disk. I bolted an 18 in. 5/8 thru bolt (used on power poles) with 2 in. square washers on one end and placed an eye nut on the other end for the anchor rope and used it for years. If you ask nice, a power crew will give you the hardware you need.
