I have heard that you should run engine to let it warm up then retorque the head bolts again. Is this true. I have a model 40 and still seem to have some antifreeze in my oil, not nearly as much as before I changed the head gasket.
Thanks for any input.
John

Yes after installing the new head gasket you should run it for about an hour, get it pretty warm and then retorque the head. Start with the middle bolt, and work outwards in a circular pattern on the retorque. You should not be getting any anti-freeze in the oil, did you check the head for any cracks? Have you done a valve guide inspection to see if they are seated properly? Just a few things you may have done, may not have. Good luck,
