I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about a quick release like a spring loaded brake lock release. I am thinking of making a spring loaded device to release the brake lock. I was thinking something nice like what a farmall H would have?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Tyler, I have been building those for years, just weld a small lever on the bottom of the strap to attach a release spring then weld a curved strap over the top from end to end so you can step on the curved strap to apply the lock & add a curved rod to go under the pedal so the lock always follows the pedal & you can have an instant lock or release any time you want just using one foot with no bending down.
~If this isn't clear [it probably isn't] let me know & I will take a picture of one of mine & E-Mail it to you....

Farmuse, well I don't know! It seems AOL has changed their picture linking procedure & made it difficult to post direct link pictures. About all I can manage now is a thumbnail. As soon as I figure out how to post bigger, or find a new host I will post a life sized photo. Send me an E-Mail with a request if you need a bigger pix sent.
~Anybody that knows how to link to the NEW & better [yeah] AOL photos please E-Mail me or post it.

This picture should be bigger... ~The brake lock is shown in the locked position. To release the latch, the pedal is just pushed down & the spring lifts the latch. To set, either step on the curved top of the strap or step on the brake pedal & set the lock with your heel....

Clooney:

I just signed up for Ofoto. It apears to be free.

Here's a test shot. Not sure that I like the resolution.

Frank I forgot to ask the other day if you thought corn starch and lye will harm the grass or do I need to neutralize before I paint.Earl

Seamo:

The corn starch doesn't hurt at all, and the lye acts the same as lime, so the plants like that, too. Just hose down the area afterward so that no one tracks the lye around and possibly into the house.

A good soap and water rinse of your work piece is all you need do. I like to use a power washer, and wash it down until it your sure it's clean. It will be very oil free, so if you don't get it good and dry quickly, it might start to rust again. If that happens, you might have to hit it with some phosphoric acid (like right Stuff or Ospho).

Frank, all that comes up is a "photo not available due to maintenance". If I chase the URL back I do get a photo that way. Can those photos be linked to? Not all places allow a web site to link to their photos. If they allow web site linking I will have to look into it.....
