I am wanting to buy a John Deere B.O. Any area's of major importance I should look for? I've read that they only made about 3100 of them and 7500 BR's, are they more expensive (and worth more later) because of this? I am looking at a pretty clean 1940 (re-ringed and valve job and repro fenders) for $2800.00. I am located in Northern California. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks Lee

I would look over things like the flywheel, making sure there are no cracks, check for welds especially around the block, does she jump out of any gears, other then that if it runs ok and tin being available through reproduction, go with your instinct, how is the seller's attitude, what is the reason for the sale, take her for a juant. Thats about all you can do. That is how I bought my BR.
