Of the new loaders deere makes the 720, and 725 are recomended for the 4020, but I believe the 740 would also work.

The 46-A loader came out first for the 4010. The #35 loader was for the 1010, 2010, 3010 but was not built heavy enought for the 3010. The 45, 45W loader also had mountings for the 3010, 4010. Then came the 48 loader with a single cylinder to run the bucket. That fit the 3010, 3020, 4010, 4020, And also had mountings to reto back to the 730. And also fit 2510, 2520. Then came the 148 loader and have seen them sell for $2,500 to $5,000. They fit 2510 to 4320. Then cane the heavy duty 158. Given a choice for a 4020 I would go for a 158 first, followed by a 148, just because they are haevy duty. My son is always on my case that I am using our wheel tractor loader on jobs I should be using the Clawler/loader.
