Spark Plug Fouling on John Deere LA.

The engine on my John Deere LA has about 3 hours on a completely remanufactured engine. The problem is that after about 1/2 hour of run time the plugs foul out. The condition doesn't seem to change regardless of how the idling needle is set. The condition doesn't seem to change no matter what plugs are used. Anti-foulers on the plugs don't help any either. The magneto is producing a good spark. What can be done to correct this condition?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, AWB

AWB, at 3 hours run time it hasn't broken in yet. See if you can put it to work running a load & maybe that will end your plug problems.
~Make sure your mag is making a BLUE spark that will jump a 1/4" gap [if not start there]. Then make sure you are using solid steel/or/copper core plug wires. ~I'm not sure what the plug gap is on an LA but open the plug gap about .010" more than specs & use 2 plug gaskets under each plug. I presume you are using the hottest plug you can get already?
~If after you get some more hours on the engine it still fouls plugs give it a leakdown test, [both hot & cold], check the valve guides for excess clearance & make sure the mag stays strong when hot. ~Use regular gasoline with no additives, no alcohol, & make sure it is fresh.
~The last thing to check is the air cleaner for restrictions & plugging. A plugged or restricted air cleaner is a big factor in plug fouling complaint.
~If you could tell us what is fouling the plugs [fuel or oil] we might be able to make more specific recommendations.....

When I first got my LA running it did the same thing. I found the spark was too early and it just didn't like to run that way. They are tough to get timed right because of the gear driven mag, so maybe the timing is off.
