How much would an L or La be worth in good shape?

The first key is to make sure the serial tag it there. subtract at least $500 if it is missing. Make sure all the sheetmetal is there and repairable condition. you can put as much as $1500 into sheetmetal. next is make sure the rear wheels are in good shape. 99% of L's and LA's had fluid in the rear tires. if the rims are bad, you could expect to pay $500-1000 for rear wheels. then you have to see if it is an L, a factory electric start tractor is rare (only 2038 were made)$3000-$7000. a good hercules engine (hand start) would be worth $2000-$4000. and LA's are all worth about the same, $2000-$4000 unless they have rare options like a PTO. if it is an L industrial (only 2019 made) don't be suprised to pay $5000-$10000 for a good one. if it is an unstyled L (only 1502 made) you could see $6000-$12000. and last but not least, if it is a model 62 you want (only 78 made)they go for anywhere from $30000-$50000. hope I helped you out, now you can see there is alot more than just an L or LA. if you need to see pictures to compare, go to www.antiquejohndeere.com

That is a tough call, comes down to what the willing buyer can afford. When you say good shape you mean runs, got all its parts, fair tires, etc. $2,000 to $3,000 is a good start.
