I have an all hydraulic 45w loader on my 1953 JD 50. and I need the cylinders rebuilt and was wondering if I can still get parts for this from JD. and if a dealer could rebuild them or if I should send them out to a hydraulics outfit to rebuild them?

Its a easy job to do this. Just take the cylinders apart, change the seals, and be careful not to crease them when you put it back togeather. I just did one a few months ago and the seals do come in a complete kit from john deere.

I rebuilt the cylinders on my JD #35 loader a few years back. Not much to it really. Think JD should have the parts though they may be induicidual instad of a kit. If not you can probably get themn from someone who sells hydraulic parts. Seems like all there was inside was a couple cups and a couple o rings.

B Olson:

I have an all-hydraulic 45w, also. I haven't fired it up yet, but I did check at the dealer, and the cylinder rebuild kits are still available. There are instructions (however abbreviated) in the owners manual. If you don't have one you can still get them from Deere at 800-522-7448. I did one years ago, and I don't remember that it was much of a job.
