I'm getting set to start sandblasting my cultivator. The artist photos I have seen show the spring trip shank as being red. If so, what red is used. Also, I have seen the shields as being black. Is all this accurate?

The 200 series cultivators are what you have? Are they quicktac (sp?) cultivators? Do you drive into them to put them on? If so, they are all green, no red. The picture of the tractor with red shanks I am pretty sure is the 220 series cultivators. What year B are you working on?

sorry to burst you guys bubble, but on 200 series cultivators everthing was green except the plow points and they are black. the red feet were used on unstyled tractors. i even have the rodehoe pieces that were used in place of fenders and they are green also. glad to see other people putting implements with there tractors now. its alot more interesting to the general public to see tractors with the implements that went with them on display.

I love the detail of contrasting colors when I restore old tractors and implements. I don't like, however, to get carried away with inventing new things to paint particularly yellow that weren't that way origionally. For example, on ebay you see often jd stuff for sale with yellow paint in odd places that make me cringe. So, if the shanks were red I would love to paint them for the contrast.

I don't know if they were for sure ? I have seen them this way. Some of the researchers at 2 cyl.mag. may know.

I know what you mean about that yellow I never liked it over used either. But lately ( I'm older now eyes aren't as sharp ) I have come to use it to high light my numbers on the gear shift tower because I have so many different tractors with different patterns and seem to be loading and moving them at night time and it sure helps to know for sure which gear I'm in. I now see this as more of a safety issue I guess ?

When I was at a Cracker Barrel resturante recently I saw a large print of the man, boy, and tractor with cultivator. I am ready to start blasting mine and want it to look like the picture. I'm going red!!
