The dash with electrtic start is slanted. The '39 is very similar to the '40. The engine is different from the unstyled and '41'47 B. '39 Bs are 4speed transmission only. The governer case is similar to unstyled. the rocker arm oiling system is different than '41-'47. '39 has unstyled drawbar. Most '39s have the serial number plate under the magneto rather than above the flywheel.

I have a 39B s/n 62,415. I am curious about when the serial number plate moved from being by the flywheel to below the magneto. Mine is still by the flywheel. Can anyone else with a 39B add some input as to the serial on their tractor and the location of the tag?

The fuel tank is different. It has a four speed transmission instead of six. The pto shaft is smaller in diameter. Alot of the castings are different including the radiator and the govenor. The early 39's have the serial number on the left side like the unstyleds. They have the two bolt air cleaners. If I worked harder I could probably come up with a few more. I just finished an early 39B and found alot of parts special to the early 39's.

The 39 has a different 3'way valve, Exhaust stack, flywheel, shroud around the brakes like unstyled. Thats all I can come up with right now.

The steering wheel is different. It has the big layered hub like the unstyled but has 3 round spokes instead of 3 flat ones.
