What is the best place to tap into the hydraulic system on a 1969 2020 when adding a front end loader? There are three steel hydraulic lines coming from the front of the tractor to the rear, 1 small (about 3/8") and two larger (about 5/8"). The small line appears to supply the power steering, is this the one I want to tee into for supply to the loader valve?

Thanks

Terry,on right side under foot rest is a pressure control valve. It has a plug at back of it ,if tractor doesn't have remote control. If it does have remote a line will be hooked up there.NO remote install an oring fitting and go to in port on valve,if remote equipped remove fitting and install a tee fitting.Return line should go to filter housing as previous post stated as this gets oil back to main pump quicker.Be sure you have a closed center valve!!!

use the two remotes on the rear of the tractor. My 48 loader works just fine using these connections. If I need hydraulics at the rear, I disconnect the ram for bucket tilt and am still able to raise or lower loader if necessary. Just my $.02.

Nope. Dont hook to that small line. That is "prioritized" for steering and only steering. If the tractor is equiped with dual remote couplers use them. If your using an independent valve (closed center for that tractor series) then hook the pressure line before the priority valve. The return line is best hooked to the port on the filter bowl housing. Thats assuming your tractors filter housing is the ported type. Some came thru unported. If so Ive heard some success stories from folks who have drilled and welded the proper fitting to it. I will see if I can find a 20 series manual tomorrow and try to be more specific on attaching the pressure line.
