You also want to check your truck insurance if you haul youir tractor to shows. At least here in Michigan, my truck insurance covers my trailer, but not my tractor. It is covered under my farm insurance policy along with my other farm equipment, buildings, etc. If you don't farm, I think you should check with your agent about it. Many people don't realize that your vehicle insurance doesn't cover your tractor when you haul it, only the trailer.
Hope this helps,
Paul

I have umbrella coverage for all of my farm/home owners liability. I believe that my machinery is covered for theft and damage. That would include collector tractors and working tractors. I would call your insurance agent and ask about specifics.

An umbrella provides additional coverage above the limits you have on your auto and home, or farmowners. BUT, the coverage provided is a liability coverage, meaning if you are sued by a third party you will have coverage and defense for the suit. An umbrella does NOT cover your personal/farm property. Tyler, MO - Talk to your agent, and most importantly read your own policy. Have the agent explain anything you don't understand. In the end, you are the only one who truly has your best interests in mind.
