Rick, I don't know how that glass fits for tractor cabs but I have put car windows in and the trick is to put the rubber on the glass part then put a cord around the rubber with a pull handle on one end. You start the glass on one side by pushing it in place by hand then pull the cord and hold the glass to the frame at the same time. The cord brings the rubber on the other side of the frame and that basically is it. Hope the tractor is that way too.

That's a good point, Jerry, and that method works good for windows that are mounted at an angle or if you have help. If you're installing a piece of glass in a Sound-Gard cab, the glass is basically vertical, and if you're doing it alone, you don't have much choice but to work from the outside of the cab. Been there and done that.

Yeah, that is right. Always good to have help. The rule I was taught is if you keep good beer on hand, help isn't so hard to find.

I'd let the insurance co. fix it.

If you don't have much experience installing glass, you might want to leave this one to the experts. You need to be very patient, and the proper tools help tremendously. It's pretty easy to install glasss in Sound-Gard cabs as far as glass goes, but not easy as far as jobs go. I recently installed a new RH windshield in a 4840. I had a helper and I was still not entirely sure I was going to get it done without breaking it. It doesn't take much of a nick on the edge of the glass to crack the whole thing. Those smaller pieces on the bottom are easier to handle, but still require the same care to install. Start in a corner and slowly start working the glass into the bottom of the rubber seal. You'll have to do what I call "hand-thumping" to get it worked in, and then when it's completely in, you'll have to get the lock seated, which can be a little difficult in itself. I guess what I'm trying to say is that a pro could probably do it in 10 minutes without damaging the glass, and it would be well worth it, and probably cheaper than another piece of glass by far. If you do decide to tackle it, email me and I can give you some more detailed tips and tricks.
