On a 60 roll-a-matic, i was wanting to drop the front end and build a different type to run smaller tires.Question is will the two pins just above the roll-a-matic drive out and let the unit fall out. One end of the pins is smaller than the other, just wondering if they will come out. any help is appreciated, ken.

I think Sam is right. I don't know if the B is my favorite, but it sure is a nice tractor and as far as these old JD's go, is about the most affordable restoration project available. Parts are readily available. Sam has done a beautiful job on his (I've seen the pics).

Ken, those pins will probably have to be drilled out & when out you will find the shaft pressed in with a pretty tight press fit. I haven't ever taken a non-convertible apart but have repaired a few convertibles & have had to drill the rivets out & drill, chisel & grind the shaft out of those. ~Why not just get a non roll-o-matic shaft with the plain lower spindles?
