Hey everybody,
First off, everyone remember to drive with your lights on tommorrow. Now then my question, has anyone out there made their own wiring harness. I have a 65 model 4020 diesel that I will be changing to 12 volt this winter, hope that don't offend a whole lot of folks but I need this thing more user friendly. I about choked when I saw a wiring diagram from the dealer was right at $400.00. i was looking at it and if I do this like I did my 3020 there shouldn't be the need for alot of the wiring that is there now. Going to use a 1 wire alternator and a 12 volt starter like I did on the 3020 this year. Anybody ever done it? It would be worth it to spend a week in the shop this winter making one.

You dont need to do anything to the wireing if it's ok.Just tie the blue and brown wires together at the starter and at the generator. Don

Thanks Don,
I appreciate your reply but I have allready rigged my 3020 as such when I changed it over to 12 volt. The wiring on the 4020 has been so hen scratched together I'm not sure it would work. I will try it first however as you say. Why don't people fix things the way they should be fixed, it would make things so much simpler later. I do appreciate the reply! Thanks!
