Aaron if you are installing new or aluiume pistons they require more clearance than cast iron pistons. I installed a set of Henrick pistons in my "G" and he recommended ten thousands piston to wall clearance. It would not hurt to check with your piston supplyer for proper clearance. On my puller I got a set of big fat pistons and I run 18 thousands clearance and I think they still create more drag by swelling, thus dragging the horsepower down.I would give at least 10 thousands clearance on regular alunium pistons.
