I am replacing the cover gasket on the pto and can't get it back on. Does the drum come out or do I have to line up all the clutches and slide them into the drum? I have locked the detent on the ring and tried to align the clutches. Do I have to just keep trying this? Thanks, Ken

Ken, CAUTION that clutch drum WON'T come out without pulling the pump apart.. If you try to pull it out you can ruin the pump...

~To put that clutch pack back in, you first have to perfectly line up ALL the clutch plates with a straight edge, then lock the clutch collar into engagement to hold them there.

~Make sure there are no bent tabs on the clutch plates [those do bend easily].

~When reinstalling that clutch assembly kind or wiggle it around & lightly push it in.. If everything is lined up & set up correctly it WILL go back in...

Ken- Clooney Is right, I just replaced the clutch pack in my 730 lp. It's kind of frustrating but you can do it ! I would add- make sure you have that fiber looking thrust washer on the end of the shaft! -mike
