Try Sharp's in Fair Grove, MIssouri at 417 933-2253. They were a lot of help to me. Also be careful getting your rod bearings. It seems that there are two versions, an early style and a late style. The John Deere Parts manual only shows one, but I found there are two and I wound up with both of them, and only one fit. Hope this

The M series and the 40 series used the same engine block, but the 40 series used a crankshaft with larger connecting rod diameter. Thus the bearings and rods were different-several other parts were different between the M and 40 engines also. Perhaps the parts guy furnished a set of 40 rod bearing inserts to you.

My JD parts CD shown only one bearing, but shows that an AM225T connecting rod substitutes for an AM714T rod. Subs are supposed to be real substitutes, but on this old stuff, sometines I've fount that is not the case!

Hey Rudy it's a small world. I'm over in Buffalo. I usually hang out on the Farmall Board. have a 45 B and a 48 M. Also a 64 model John Deere 2010, so I drop in here & ask questions too.
