I have seen fans painted both ways, the whole blade yellow and only the front surface yellow. Which is correct?

Also, does this site have a webmaster and can he delete all the Dillon messages?

Great advice! That's the same way I polish the crank shaft!

Our model 40 has an all green fan. I am sure that this was the factory condition since we know the history on this machine and know that it hasn't been repainted

Wind,

One thing is certain. Whether you paint it yellow or green, someone will say you're wrong. You could paint it red or persian orange. Then everyone would agree!

There was a big fight here about six mo. ago on the fan color. Don't think there was a clear winner. I can tell you what I remember growing up. We had an unstyled B that I "Think" had a yellow fan. We had a 43B,45A,49A and 50B that had green fans. We did not have any of them repainted. Could any of the fans have been changed? Maybe. What tractor are you asking about? As to the last question the more he sees his name here the longer he will stay around. Don't read, reply or post his name and he will go away.

I am nearing paint on a '35B. I thought it was supposed to be all yellow. Then along comes Jim and tells me that maybe the radiator and shroud should be yellow too? I will plan on painting the all the fan blades yellow. Thanks guys.

wind the radiator side of the fan should be green the engine side should be painted by brush using yellow.

In the process of redoing a 1940 B, this tractor has all orginal paint. Rebuilding the fan shaft I noticed the fan had yellow paint around the rivots on tractor side & all green radiator side. First one I have ever saw this way, so I agree with 35b?

I've also heard that is what they did at the Waterloo factory - painting the back side of the fan blades yellow with a brush. Perhaps that was never done at Dubuque. I don't know during what time period this was the practice. I suppose it was done in an effort to make the fan more visible and added some to safety.

Wind-----I have a 47A--when sand blasting-the whole fan was yellow-except for the fan clutch spring-it was green-----also the raditor was yellow along with the fan shroud....Their are many theorys still out on the subject of yellow or green fans.
