Are all H brake linings the same? I just acquired a full set of NOS brake linings part number AH1154R. I understand that according to the John Deere master computer these are one of only seven avaliable to dealers in the World. Then I'm told that this set of linings only fit serial numbers 1000 thru 7805, all of 1939 vintage. Did they change the brakes after 7805 or was that the highest serial number avaliable when these particular linings were manufactured?

What I would like to do is put these linings part number AH1154R on my 1942 H s/n 42XXX. Can this be done? Thanks fellas for your input. Chuck

Charles, Your 42H should have the later linings, #H679R. Most of the 39s have been changed to the later shoe and lining. You won't have any trouble getting rid of those for a 39, they're pretty hard to come by. Hope this helps, HMan

According to my book the later serial numbers took AH 1155 R. I don't know what the difference is, but if you can't use the ones you have and want to get rid of them, I'll take them off your hands. They'll work on ole no. 3929 just fine, and I know I'll be needing them sooner or later.
Hope this helps
