I've owned one for 5 years, and I like my 66 very well. For loader service a Gas would work very well, and you won't notice much extra fuel consumption. I just wouldn't want one as my main tillage tractor. Everyone says gassers start easy in the winter, and they can, but you have to have your electrical system up to par. Also after you've fired it up on a Zero degree day, let it warm up for about 5 minutes before going out to feed or whatever, that way it won't sput, and act stupid with you. If you get the tractor, I'd recommend an electronic ignition conversion, along with going to a 12V neg ground system, and replacing the generator, and regulator with a Cheap GM Alternator with built in regulator. All can be done for around 200 dollars. If the Key switch, and light switches are corroded replace them, and save yourself some headaches. If you have to do anything to the engine get, an IT manual, it's all pretty self explainatory. I rebuilt mine around 300 hours ago, and it was an enjoyable experience. To conclude a long post, if I were going to put less than 100 hours a year on the tractor, I'd buy a gasser, if over that get a Diesel. Around here there is usually about 4,000 dollars difference in price, and you can still buy alot of gas for 4,000 dollars. Later, and Good luck, Greg H.
