My brother-in-law's neighbour at the lake has a very nice JD2020 that his dad gave him a number of years ago. He doesn't have a manual or any information on it so I told him I'd ask here. If anyone has any specs or other information I'll pass it on to him. None of my books here have anything on that series. Thanks.

Thanks, that's actually the kind of stuff I was looking for. The serial number is a bit strange, it reads NT5H-1C0301851 although I think the first and last 1's are "brackets" (they're not stamped in very well and appear a bit like 1's), so I guess the s/n is 30184 which fits into your list. Any idea as to what all the other stuff in the serial number might mean?

I apologise for this sounding like a smart #$% statement but the best thing too do is give your local dealer a call and order a owners manual for it. That will give you all you need to know and if you wanted it you could get a parts catalog and a repair manual. The only specs I really have on it is in a book I ordered on Deere tractors from 1918 to 1987. It gives the horsepower rating at 54.09. I'm sure someone can give much more info than that but I thought I would do what I could. Hope it helped some. I have a friend who got one last year and he loves it, I do too wish I could talk him out of it, would make a great swather and raking tractor just to name a couple. Try your local dealer for a manual though, he really needs one anyhow!

He can get a manual by calling John Deere publications at 1-800-522-7448
