I have a 630 gas. the only way it will run is to choke it. As soon as you push the choke in it stops running. I have gone through the carb.and cleaned everything. How much fuel should flow out of the top of the sediment bowl, because if I disconect the fuel line from the carb I do get some flow but it looks weak to me.

Paul,

I have a 620 gas and I assume you have the same type of sediment bowl as mine has. I am sure you are aware that the sediment bowl gets its flow through a oil pressure shut off valve at the base of the tank. There is a bypass button on top the valve, reach in and manually push down on this button holding it down with the engine running and choke off to see if you have a flow restriction.

Don't have anything else to suggest.

Dick

I actually tried that when it was running and it still died.

Hi Paul. At the tank outlet you have an automatic shut-off assembly. I would suggest removing it and completly disassembling it. Over the years, crude will accumulate in the passages and cause the problem you are having. I have several tractors with that assembly, and have cleaned them all. Also recomend replacing the diaphrams while you are there. They are available from Deere, and not expensive. Age works on them also.Good luck, and have fun with your 630! Don

Don,

Do you have to remove the tank to get the vavle off?
