How early a GP A is it?

Six months ago I purchased an open fan A with no serial tag. Then a gentleman visiting our collection looked at it and said it was a fairly early GP A. I wanted to know how early of a tag to look for. It has the narrow frame, short clutch lever, real thick rear axle seals, no casting date below the clutch pulley. But the cast seat mount is open and not closed. The front pedistal and radiator are also different from the later 34 A's. Plus does anyone have an early GP A serial tag for sale?

My A is #410387 and has the thin 3/8" frame, #410395 has the 1/2" thick frame. This should give you a guide as to your approx SN. Be aware that it is not considered legit to seperate a SN tag and main case! Consider getting a main case/SN tag as a set.

I have not mixed and matched frames and main cases at all, the entire tractor is early I feel, just I have traced it back over 45 years between two previous owners and neither one owned this tractor with a serial tag on it. I am just wanting to find an early enough serial tag for it or just not tag it at all instead of it being wrong.

If yours has the 3/8 inch frame then it would be below serial # 410395

I don't have any tags for sale but I believe the last known GP A is serial # 411015. I have # 411007
