Getting better but, more questions

Ran my B some more last night, closer to hand start. Reinstalled the FM Mag, good spark, thanks Seamo, got her to fire a couple of times but not go the whole way. Still seems like I have some problem getting the fuel to it. Put on a steel fuel line and that did help the idle a bit, but still have to run with the choke on about 1/4 even when warmed up. Put it under some load and worked with the load needle a bit and got it to stop putting out the black smoke.

Also after running, it looks like I have a LH crank seal problem. Got some oil working out of the splines on the flywheel and spinning out. What am I looking at here? I would think I could replace the seal without too much trouble from the looks in the parts book, but am curious how much fun it will be.

The seal on the flywheel side is a cork seal and doesn't take too long to replace. It involves removing the flywheel and the cap that covers the seal. When you go to reinstall use electrical tape over the splines so you don't cut the new seal.

As for the starting problem sounds to me you have the idle passage plugged.

Hope this helps

Sam

Thanks Sam, called the dealer last night and he has 3 pcs of B130R in stock, but it is called a bushing in his description. Going to stop by on my way home and check it out. So I want to be very careful with the seal rubbing against the splines? The electrical tape sounds like it should work then.

I am suspecting the idle passage more everyday. Probably end up pulling the carb this weekend and looking for it.
