Had stuck clutch on 3010. Split tractor and cleaned the rust off. Otherwise clutch is in good shape. Would it hurt anything to block the clutch in the depressed position when the tractor is not in use for a long period to prevent sticking again?

John, Not sure I see the benefit of blocking clutch down and I would think it would have some effect on spring tensions. Is tractor left outside for extended time? I have a 3010D that sat outside for 2 years untouched and the clutch is stuck so tight I can't break loose without splitting. However it looks like the rear main seal had been leaking some and caused it to be gummy, hence the stuck clutch. It sure holds good. To move around until it is fixed I have to put in gear then start. You better be thinking and plan ahead when you use that method.

I can't see why it would hurt to block clutch pedal down but also I can't see the use in it. Unless they sit for a very long time they shouldn't stick anyway if everything is in good shape.
