Does anyone know what the problem might be when the tractor will start and run just fine and for no reason just die? I feel it is a fuel problem and have replaced the little round filter, the condenser and plugs. It has not helped at all. Same thing is happening . If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Our 4020 did that once, thought it was out of fuel, turned out to be that wire had a bad connection on top of the solenoid/valve under the hood that turns the propane on and off, was just like shutting the key off.

Make sure you're getting water to the propane regulator. When it's running, you should be able to feel the water lines going to the regulator and they'll be pretty warm.

If it's freezing up, it may not just die. It will act like it's running out of gas, and may run at idle for a bit until it finally freezes up and dies because it's not even getting enough fuel to idle. Moving the throttle won't have much effect other than to make it worse or kill it when you try to open the throttle, but pulling it back to a lower speed clears it up a little.

If the regulator is freezing up, you can let it sit for 4 or 10 mins and it will be good as new until it freezes up again.

My 50LP will freeze up in certain kinds of weather if I start it and let it run at low idle immediately. If I run it just a little above the lowest idle for the first 2 or 3 mins, it's fine after that. Not really a problem, just a quirk!

LP is not bad about freezing up this time of the year. Might check the water flow thru the vaporizer/regulator. I would check or change your coil as it sounds like it might be going bad. The next thing I would check is a loose post/bad connection at the key switch. I just had all these problems on my 4010 LP and 720 LP.

I think I have heard of LP fuel systems freezing up if they are run on liquid before the engine warms up. I have two LP tractors and I'm going to learn a lot working on them. Someone will be able to help you better than I have. Hope you have best luck.
