Anybody know the cheapest place to find an overhaul gasket set for a 37 B?

Go to Deere. A parts place wanted almost $100 for a gasket kit for my 43B. I went to Deere and got it for like $40

Unless I'm mistaken, and engine overhaul gasket kit is available from your JD dealer. One of the other techs here has a '35 "B", and he was recently looking up some parts for it and found that the kit number is still good. That would probably be your best bet. Gaskets are fairly cheap, and with tractor collecting and restoring taking off like it is, I imagine Deere will keep these kits in production for quite some time yet. The kit for your engine overhaul is part #AB3874R and lists for $40.09. Seems pretty cheap for parts for a 65 year old tractor. The transmission, crank bearing replacement, and governor overhaul kits are still available as well.

That seems very cheap considering I just priced a set today at a local implement dealer for $150.00.
I guess I'll try John Deere tomorrow. Thanks for the posts!!

Jason, when you get a set, sit down and trace them and then cut them out of gasket material and save the originals for the next job. Tractor clubs should help each other this way. I've had an original set for the last four jobs. Excepting the head that I can't copy. Good luck.
