Allen,

I guess your question was for a front-end kit. If your talking about converting a tricycle to a wide front your only option is to find one of the two styles that were made for the T (68"-88") or the (48"-80"). I can only find the part number for the 68"-88" it is AM 1385T. I doubt if it is available from JD but it might be worth checking. One of the tractor wrecking yards around might be able to set you up with the parts. Idaho Tractor Salvage [[email protected]] had a complete "T" wide front about a year ago when I was looking for front-end parts. If you decide to piece a wide front together, be sure and buy yourself the service manual # SM-2013 and the parts catalog # PC-862 they will save you a ton headaches. If you are looking for a rebuild kit for an existing wide front I dont think there is one out there, at least I didnt find one in the two years that I looked for front-end parts for my 40 Utility. I just had to find and buy the pieces where I could. Also you might want to try Dwayne Bohnert 570-324-2821. He spent a lot of time looking for a few parts for me and I felt his prices were fair.

Good Luck
Jeff

I'm guesing you have a 40T? Because the 40 has a wide front the 40T has a narrow front like an MT. Its probily going to be pretty hard to find a wide front.

Just because it is a "T" does not mean it has to be a tricycle front end. There were 9 different front axle configurations for the model 40. The "T" was available with the dual front spindle (2 wheels together) the single front wheel attachment, the adjustable wide front tricycle (48" to 80") the adjustable wide front tricycle (68" to 88") If you have all the parts any of these will interchange on a 40T. Also some of them only have (40) with no letter following. The 40s the 40w the 40h the 40v and the 40u will have different front ends.
