Aaron Don't worry about it, the job is actually a piece of cake. Move your tire out and if possible remove hub from tractor axle-you need the space. While in this area you need to remove the brake - three bolts attach it to the rearend case(the cover will not come off without removing the brake). NOW, the hardest part can be removing the clutch if you don't do it right. Take your clutch apart piece by piece. DON"T FORGET TO DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH and then REMOVE THE CLUTCH FORK FIRST. You will have a mess if you do not pull the clutch. from there you will see a little cover to the left of the belt pulley cover. Remove and loosen nut. You will most likely find your problem with this bearing....You can stop here but you need to go on and check under the cover by removing the bolts that hold it on. Hope I haven't forgotten anything. Order a new gasket from the local JD dealer and replace other parts needed. Bearings etc. All the John Deere guys know who MR. THINKER is and taking a quote from one of my favorite columnist - if I do say so myself. GET YOURSELF A PARTS manual, A SERVICE manual, & OWNERS manual if available. And yes, somebody has one somewhere you can borrow. Take care of it as your own don't grease the pages up with finger prints. Even as vague as he I & T manual's are, they can help. Then read them all. I'm not being hard, just truthful. I have one set of books for each of my tractors. I just did the one on my 630. Piece of cake. Honestly probably more bull work removing the tire than anything else. Good luck. Tony 630
