When using a haybine and round baler, there is a very loud rattling noise in the cab when the pto is under load. No noise from the implements. Any ideas or suggestions? This tractor has the 540/1000 pto arrangement.

Could be serious trouble, a bad bearing at the pto outlet shaft, or improper hook-up with the implement. If a bad bearing, it is probably leaking oil around the shaft.

Make sure the implement power shaft is operating in as near a straight line as possible. Much of an angle on a U-joint will cause a strain that often translates to a noise/vibration. Also make sure the power shaft is not pushing in on the pto shaft; i.e., power shaft is not too long.
