Thinking about getting a front loader. But I have a 3010D Tricycle front end, would that cause any problem or should I get a wide front end?

Thanks Eddie

Hey Eddie,
There is a 4010 in the photo ads with a narrow front and loader on it. I'm sure there are many out there still going strong with the narrow front end. For my money I would much rather have the wide front however. Makes it much safer in all aspects, even without the loader on it. Could be found at one of your local wrecking yards and would be a job to change out but I would think it could be done in a day, depending on how fast you want to work at it. Don't not get a loader just because of the narrow front, you could always get that a little later, hey you could use the loader to lift it off of the trailer! Sound like a plan?

Had a home-made loader on my narrow front '47 B for decades. Never had any problems. Just take it easy over the rough ground and side hills and you should be O.K.

Dont forget to think about adding some weight on the rear end when using the loader. If you have a three point you got it made by using a hlf barrel of cement or a box blade or your favorite thing to hang on back there for rear ballast. Have fun, but like they said, keep the loads low and stay off the side hills :).

There are lots of tractor out there with loaders and narrow fronts. You just have to remember the basics of loader safety - keep the load low, go slowly on hillsides, etc etc. If you're going to be using it continuously as a loader tractor on uneven terrain, I would recommend a wide front. But if you're just using the loader occasionally, you should be fine. You might consider moving out the rear wheels some if possible, and maybe see if you can flip the front wheels around for a little wider track. My two cents.
