Have a 6030 with a Bosch inline pump, on the rear there is a kind of spring and linkage. Can someone explain in detail how this all works/what should the adjustments be - maybe if this is out of adjustment it won't help the starting. I think this is called an aneroid valve ????? Thanks in advance. Chris.

The aneroid is a fuel economy device that controls / limits fuel delivery depending on what the turbo boost pressure is. The linkage that you are referring to is the aneroid latch. The latch is to bypass the aneroid limit to allow injection pump to go into an over fuel or starting mode so tractor engine can get excess amount of fuel during starting to make it start easier. As previously mention you can physically push in on pin on side of pump to put it into the starting mode. Take his advice and get a service manual to adjust linkage. Not that hard to do. Good Luck Dave W.

Its not an aneroid(an aneroid controls the fuel until the charger boost comes up)The spring and linkage is a cold start aid,it allows full fuel fuel rack travel to aid starting, you will need a manual for the proper adjustment as it varies pump to pump. Until you get it set, advance the throttle and push it in, this is the cold start position,if it starts easier, that is your problem. 6030's were not good cold weather starters even when new.
