Ken, that can't be done directly since the H hydraulic pump, valve, and reservoir system was designed for one-way rams. That is, oil is constantly moved by the pump, but the original valve either diverts the oil out to the ram, or the valve allows the oil to be pushed by the cylinder back into the reservoir. However, with a little extra trouble, you can get an aftermarket open-center, 4-way hydraulic valve and hook it up downstream of your existing pump and valve assembly. Then, you have to figure out how to get a drain line from your auxiliary valve back to your reservoir. Hook up the two cylinder ports of the aux. valve to your cylinder. Now, if you hold the original control handle to the "lift" position, oil will be pumped continuously into your auxiliary valve. At the center position, your aux. valve will be dumping all the oil right back to the reservoir. If you throw the aux. valve to either position (extend or retract), the oil will be diverted to the respective port on your cylinder, and the oil returned from the opposite cylinder port will flow back through the aux. valve, and ultimately back to the reservoir. Saw a system set up like this, but the guy had built himself a bigger remote reservoir and had plumbed it into the cast iron reservoir of the H's system. So, it can be done, but you need a number of extra pieces. Good luck with it.
