i am in the process of restoring a 41 b and the tractor surges under idle. i fixed it for the most part by adjusting the throttle rod, and stop screw on the carb. the gov. is fine and it seems to run better with a 1/8 to 1/4 choke but when you give it full gas it starts to flood out. i cleaned the carb out and set everything back to spec but it does not idle right. could it be that there is a bad neddle and seat or that the carb is getting too much air or is there another problem. btw my fuel lines leak a tad bit near the three way valve...i plan on replacing them soon but it ran fine when the leaked before???? thanks in advance.

Jason. Sorry to break the news to you this way but, your symptoms are still the classic that your carburetor is still plugged on the idle circuit. This is very common and very often over looked when these carbs have been cleaned even by so called professionals. (no offense) You need to run a wire through the idle passages. Don't use a drill as if you do not have the correct size it will do more damage than good. Correct size bits can be gotten from venders but a wire, a can of brake clean with a straw on it and a little patients will work also. Good Luck Dave W.
