Can't get steering adjusted.

Narrow front end on late B. Set steering shaft end play to 0 with no binding, then checked shaft up and down movement within .32 of inch. Then adjusted cam. with this adjusted with 1/2 inch movement in shaft before wheels move, steering seems to be binding. with wheels on ground noticed that when i move the steering wheel, the pedistal shaft moves back and forth. Is this normal for it to move? Before when going down road front wheels would wobble alot, but steering was east to turn. Has anybody else had this problem?

The eccentric bushing is probably wore. It is under the steering pedestal gear. You can get one new from Deere. I got mine about 2 years ago. It cost like $96.00 It got rid of the wobble.
