Need a rear end for a 1010 and would like the PTO to connect. Anyone know which rear ends will swap? I've heard 420, 430, 1020, and 2010, but no one seems to be sure.

Thanks.

You are going to have to call 1-800-522-7448 and order the 1010 and 420/430 parts books. The 1010 at 420,001 went from 4 to 7 bolts at the front of the trans. Shifter placement varied with serial number and if it was an industrial. Some trans parts will mix from a slant dash 420 and the 430's with pre 31,000 1010's. Hydraulics will mix and match some peices up to 42,000 1010's. The 1010's using inboard final drives after 31,001 had more reduction,a nice transplant into a "W" chassis two cylinder.

Go for the ratio that the 435 had in it. The teeth on the ring and pinion are much beefier. That is what I took some good advise on and put in my 420.

the early 1010, used the same rear as 430. Had a latter model 1010 and I'm not sure if there is another interchange. I do know the early model transmission, rear end set up was weaker and they modified.
