I am going after a 420 T LP this weekend. I have never touched an LP tractor before. Any advice on safety, maint. service, operation or any tips on restoration would be appreceiated. My 420 maint. manual does not include LP. My parts book does. Also looking at the photos, there is only one big knob coming through the dash. It looks to be where the choke would be. The parts book says (2-used) where is the other knob supposed to be? anyones expierence or tips appreceiated. Thanks, Wayne.

I restored a 420 Lp several years ago,it had 2
valves sticking out of the dash. One was for liquid
one was for vapor. You were supposed to start it
on one then switch it over to the other when warm.
I can't remember if it started on vapor or liquid,
don't want to guess. It should have an electric
shut off valve that works with the ignition
switch,I've seen several with this missing.I
know the owners manual says to drain the tank
before storing inside.Propane is heavier than
air,and seeks low places. It can stay there for
days and still blow up with any kind of spark.

Sorry Wayne, I have absolutely no experience with a 420 LP tractor. That is a special treat you have there & I'm sure you will be an expert on LP 420's before you are done with it...
