How difficult is it to turn my jd60 4 bolt narrow front to a wide front? I have some hilly ground and I need to modifie my tractor. My local dealer has a swartz front he says will bolt on. Is there a lot to this job? Thanks for your help in this.

I pulled a Rollomatic off a 3010 and installed a Swartz wide front in 1 1/2 hours alone. I used a forklift attachment on a frontloader to move it in place. Four bolts off and four bolts on.

Steve,

When I walk into my JD dealer and get parts for my 60, I get reactions like I'm from a slightly different planet. I'd imagine your dealer has more supply of Schwartz wide fronts than he thinks he'll see a demand for in the next 10 years -- one unit. The dealer probably also has more heavy equipment like jacks, and a bigger parts inventory than you or I will accumulate in a lifetime. If he says it's an easy install, put his feet to the fire and get free installation thrown in thrown price. I'd imagine he'd rather give away some labor instead of seeing that front end continue to sit around.

~Steve, if it has the 2 piece front bolster it's a simple bolt on, as long as you get [ALL] the parts to install it with the axle.....
