Where can I find brake shoes for my John Deere 50? I have found several sources for just the liners, but one of my brake shoes has gotten bent. I need new shoes and can't find them!

You might try Ron Stephans at 319-822-7348 as he parts out lots of Deeres. Good luck.

you can use the old shoes, install the new linings. I believe you can buy new ones through deere but I've never seen the need.

Any good salvage yard should have them, same shoe as a 520 or 530.

I not sure you got that right about the shoes being the same size. Maybe the late 50's were the same as 520,530's but my early 50 takes the same shoe as the late B.
I think the 520 and 530 take the same size as a 60.
I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again, but make sure you get it right when it comes to parts.

Thanks, "Brokenwrench" for your reply. I take it, then, that you feel that there are no "after-market" vendors who supply replacement shoes with pads attached?

i just got the shoes for my 54 "50" relined. i tried to find shoes already lined to exchange mine for and didn't have any luck there either, so i let one of the local auto parts houses have them to send them off to memphis. they came back looking like new, painted, with new liners glued on for around 50 bucks. it took around a week. if you don't think they can straighten the bent shoe then ask one of the used tractor parts places to quote you a price for the one you need, and have it relined.
