Andy, Brake assemblys from sn 201000 and up will fit your B(that is all B's w/pressed steel frames) the correct ones were installed on tractors sn 232468 and up ( mid year 1949-1952). Deere made a design change allowing removal of the brake drum, shoes and adjuster by removing a nut and washer on the outside for access instead of having to remove the whole assembly for service. So both types w/fit and some of the parts fit various years up to and including the model 50. Their is no shortage of '48-52 B's in salvage so finding a pair should be no harder than finding the money to pay for them. gwh

Andy:

I didn't look up which years these serial numbers match with, but here are the brake housings for "B"'s. You can match them up with your tractor and have a range to look for replacement assemblies.

Perhaps someone else can give you more information.
